The Truth about Gifts

Blog assignment question #2:
Why do our blessings sometimes seem a disaster for us?

Occurrences, whether good or bad, are experienced by every person in the world. There is no such person who goes on in life without going through at least a bunch of hardships. This goes to show that whatever your stature is, no one’s life is perfect. Even those who can have every material thing they lay their eyes on have something missing in their lives. It seems like a rule – that fact that we really do have to have difficult times.

The only difference for every person, I think, is the way they view their lives and how they treat every problem. Whether they view it optimistically or not, that is their responsibility. Blessings which become disasters can be remedied by hard work and perseverance coming from the person. For example, making you lose your friends by being a very ambitious hot shot in a business shows a blessing, the fame of being a successful person, in turn makes a disaster of losing those dear to you. It is the way you do things that determines what would happen to your fate.

Sometimes, things do not turn out the way they seem. There are some good fortunes which later turn into an adversity for us. No matter how bad, however, we must not lose hope in the opposite – misfortunes turning into wonderful opportunities. Remember that big gifts come in small packages. We just have to see if that package enters our home by the door or the window of opportunities.
